Built Fresh For Kids into a site that talks to three different audiences at once — recipes for parents, games for kids, and a per-classroom booking system for teachers.
The site had to speak to two very different audiences at once. Parents and teachers needed a practical resource they could actually use in a classroom or a canteen, while kids needed something bright and fun enough to hold their attention. Neither audience could come at the expense of the other.
With a few of us on the team having kids of our own, this one was personal. We let the design have some fun, bright colours, playful touches, without losing sight of the practical resource sitting underneath it for the adults relying on the site day to day.
This one came to us through Uptown Communications, the agency handling the wider Fresh for Kids relationship. We designed and built the site behind the scenes as their development partner, the same way we work with other design and marketing agencies who need a WordPress build without adding headcount.
We built a bright, playful design for the parts of the site aimed at kids, while keeping the practical, resource-focused sections clear and straightforward for the adults using them, so both audiences got a site built for them specifically rather than one compromise in the middle.
We structured the site around clear, ready-to-use resource sections, so a teacher or canteen manager can find and use what they need without digging through unrelated content.
We worked as the development partner behind the scenes, building the site to Uptown Communications' brief and design direction so the client relationship stayed with them while we handled the WordPress build.
