  • Support & Maintenance
  • Uptime Monitoring

A community association established in 1964, dedicated to safeguarding the heritage, character and streetscapes of Paddington in Sydney that needed a hand with their website support and maintenance.

Challenge

An inherited site running on Avada, a widely used stock WordPress theme built on the Fusion Builder framework, rather than a lean custom build. That means more third-party pieces in play, theme, builder, bundled plugins, all needing to stay updated and compatible with each other, without the shortcuts that come from knowing a site's code because you wrote it yourself.

Plan of Attack

We treat every update cycle as if we're getting to know the site again: WordPress core, the Avada theme, Fusion Builder and every plugin kept current, backed by monthly backups and regular malware and security scans. No guesswork, no assuming last month's plugin list is still this month's.

Proactive Care for a Community Resource

During live planning disputes and heritage campaigns, paddingtonsociety.org.au becomes the place residents check for updates. Keeping it secure and online isn't just good practice, it's what keeps the Society's voice reliably available when it matters most.

Maintaining a site you didn't design or build means extra diligence, no inside knowledge of custom shortcuts or quirks, just careful, methodical checking of what's installed, what's out of date, and what needs attention before it becomes a problem.

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
OUR SOLUTIONS

Keep a stock Avada/Fusion Builder site secure without having built it

We treat the theme, builder and every plugin as unknowns to be checked and verified each cycle, rather than assuming familiarity we don't have from a build we didn't do ourselves, so nothing gets missed just because it wasn't something we installed.

Protect a not-for-profit's limited budget from a costly hack or outage

We keep WordPress core, the theme and every plugin on their latest secure versions proactively, because a compromised or broken site costs a volunteer-run Society far more in time and stress to fix than the ongoing care needed to prevent it.

Keep a community heritage resource reliably online

We run monthly backups and regular malware and security scans, so if anything ever does go wrong, the Society isn't starting from scratch, and most issues get caught before they affect visitors at all.

Give the Society peace of mind without needing in-house technical knowledge

We provide a report after each care cycle covering the updates carried out and the site's security and performance standing, so the volunteers running the Society always know their site is being looked after without needing to understand WordPress themselves.
